How many hours a frame for Pixar's Cars?

You've got to be kidding me.
Answer: D. The average Cars frame took 15 hours, despite a 300x overall increase in compute power. The artists have an essentially infinite appetite for detail and realism, and Pixar's resources have grown over the decade so it can afford to allocate more computers to the task, allowing each to run longer to achieve the artist's and animator's ambitions for the scenes.
15 hours per frame. As a reference, Toy Story took two hours to render a frame. I guess we know why the movie looks so smooth, but it it really necessary when you're creating a animated movie? If we were expecting a realistic animated movie, I would understand but cars?
anywho...

One year on blogspot

I just happened to notice that at the end of this month, I'll have had this presence here on blogspot for one year. Wow! That means I've missed the anniversary of www.thatedeguy.com and I'm coming up on the anniversary of money.thatedeguy.com.
Time flies when you're having fun.

Blogger Beta breaks Digg blog this function

I don't use this blog for much. I update most of everything at my other blogs at thatedeguy.com. What I did use this blog for was a sort of quasi bookmark blog for Digg.
Well, that's broken now. My blog got moved over to the blogger beta and now I can no longer use the darn "blog this" function in Digg.
Wish they would speed up their darn beta program over there at Google. Slowest development cycle I've ever seen.
