That's the basic premise of the USA Network's new series "Burn Notice." Of course, it's a little more dramatized than all that. The main character, Michael Westen, is a covert ops (read spy) agent that has had a "burn notice" placed on him. A burn notice is a bad reference of sorts that eliminates any chance of getting a new job in his line of work. He gets fired. With malice. USA Network's Burn Notice seems like it might be a pretty good show. I'll have to try and catch a couple of episodes and find out. I've been a little short of good shows to watch since the seasons ended for Jericho, CSI and Battlestar Gallactica.
I can't imagine being in a situation like this guy gets himself into. Of course, I'm no spy so I wouldn't have the personal resources that he does. I'd have to count on the help of others and hopefully some good weather. At least a few good days of it. If it were a big city, there's always a homeless shelter of some sort. You'd want to try and find a job of some sort. Without the resources of a spy, becoming a one man A-team probably would be out of the question. Fast food joints are always hiring. Not exactly a high paying job, but at least you could get some discounts on some food. ;)
If you have the USA Network, you might want to tune in on the 28th @ 9 Central to see just what the Burn Notice is all about. I'll be checking it out.
